One If By Land, Two If By Sea

Ever wonder what lies beside and beneath the ocean?

Forty-five Girl Scouts from around the nation and the globe are discovering the answers at Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts’destinations program One If By Land, Two If By Sea. The girls are spending eight fun-filled days learning about the rich history of Massachusetts and exploring our beautiful coastlines—all while making new friends and memories!

Girls will learn about hidden treasures of the ocean and what pollutants are harming the ocean and beaches. They’ll also discover the different paths women scientists followed to study the sea and have the opportunity to earn our council’s Oceanography badge.

The girls’ busy itinerary includes a tour of Boston’s North End, Faneuil Hall and a behind-the-scene tour of the Aquarium. They will spend the day at Boston Harbor’s Spectacle Island, enjoy a BBQ and party at Scusset Beach, take in a Cape Cod baseball game and go on a whale watch. We thank our supporters Bank of America, which funded the Spectacle Island trip, and Massachusetts Maritime Academy for partnering with our council and hosting a day of workshops.
