Troop 75045 are making the Pembroke streets safer

On Saturday, July 27, Girl Scout Troop 75045 hosted a Bicycle Safety Awareness day in Pembroke for their Girl Scout Bronze Award. The troop encouraged members of the public to bring their bikes for a wash and chain lube as well as a repair. Specialists were also in attendance to check helmets for proper fit, and officers from the Pembroke Police Department reminded members of the community of the laws and rules involved when riding a bike.

The girls set up a bicycle proficiency obstacle course, a safety seminar and encouraged the Pembroke community to bring old bikes to sell at their town-wide bike sale. Special guest Cullen Dwyer shared his emotional story of surviving an accident without a helmet and encouraged everyone to wear one. Watch the recap of this great event.
