Our CEO, Pat Parcellin, was recently invited to join Sue Tabb of Magic 106.7 on Exceptional Women, a Sunday morning radio program.
Pat discussed many aspects of Girl Scouting today—the 100th anniversary of the highest award a Girl Scout can earn, the Gold Award; badges girls earn in many disciplines and skillsets; our wonderful volunteers and so much more. She also shared from her own life, reflecting on her time as a Girl Scout, and how her troop leaders served as inspiring and strong examples of leadership.
Pat also discussed Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts’ focus on STEM. She said, “Helping today’s girls become future leaders means connecting them to the potential of science, technology, engineering and math, and exposing them to the type of careers that they can have in STEM.” She continued, “We are helping them to develop a passion for these fields, which is preparing them for college and our future workforce.”
