A camper enjoying the high ropes course at Camp Maude Eaton

Peg “Lucky” Juppé, camp director for Maude Eaton Day Camp, is returning to camp for her 15th year as camp director and her 32nd year as a Girl Scout! Lucky is a ropes course facilitator, outdoor educator, religious emblem advisor, encampment director and a Cadette troop leader.

Lucky believes in the many benefits of Girl Scout summer camp. She is passionate about the opportunity for girls to learn in a non-threatening environment, and work and play with other girls who come from different backgrounds.

For 25 years Lucky taught full-day kindergarten. She says this experience, specifically the daily planning and teaching and interacting with children, helps her in her role as camp director.

What Lucky likes best about being a camp director is the excitement of seeing girls experience camp for the first time. She also finds it rewarding to see how much the returning campers have grown up since the previous summer. She also loves crazy hat day, and has a collection of more than ten hats at camp!

Join Lucky and the other superb staff at Camp Maude Eaton! Summer camp is already underway, and registration is still open. Check out all of the awesome programs in our 2016 Camp Guide.
