Today marks the first day of the 2016-17 GSEM Cookie Program! This means you will start to see girls selling cookies at booth sales around your neighborhood. ‘Tis the season! Here are a few important and fun things you should know about this year’s cookie season:
1. How to Find Cookies
Use the Cookie Finder on our website homepage to find a booth sale near you that fits your schedule! Simply type in your zip code and click “Go.” You will be provided with a list of upcoming booth sales within a certain radius of your zip code. You can also download the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app on your mobile device! Our Cookie Volunteers will be entering their booth sale details into the cookie finder database as the dates and locations are finalized, so check back often for the latest information.
2. 100 Momentous Years
This year, you get to participate in history! 2017 marks the 100th year of Girl Scouts selling cookies! The Girl Scout Cookie Program is the largest girl-led business in the world. Purchasing cookies from Girl Scouts this year is a great celebration of the history and impact of Girl Scouting through the century.
3. New S’mores Cookie
Another reason to celebrate this year is the introduction of the yummy, new Girl Scout S’mores™ cookie! More great news… the new cookie is the same price ($5) as all the delicious classic varieties and Trios gluten-free cookies sold by our council. Find a booth sale and try the delicious new cookie! (It’s also vegan!)
4. Where the Dough Goes
When you purchase Girl Scout Cookies, you are helping to fund empowering and fun experiences for girls that help them learn new things and broaden their possibilities. Girls can use their Cookie Program earnings to go to summer camp, attend the annual GSEM STEM Conference, implement community service projects, travel as a troop to exciting places both within the country and abroad, and so much more.
Thank you for helping girls find their spark and experience new adventures this year! #poweredbyGScookies
When is the money due for our cookie orders?? Thank you!
